With wondrous prowess to heal and restore the body, Yin yoga is a great style of yoga to explore through scientific lenses as we examine the physiological and physical effects the practice has on us.
Upon completion of the module, yoga teachers will attain a deeper understanding of the anatomy and physiology of Yoga, demystifying some of the common concepts in yoga through scientific explanations.
Teachers will become proficient in the integration of anatomy, TCM meridian theory of energy and mindfulness components into the practice and teaching of Yin Yoga.
Theory focus: Advanced Yoga Anatomy and Physiology
In this module, we dive deeper into advanced anatomy for spine, hips, knees, and shoulders in relation to yoga practice. To further understand the science behind yoga, we will also cover the physiology of stretching, physiology of pain and how yoga can help. As part of understanding alternative views of the human body, we explore the Meridian Theory in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and how it can be applied in the sequencing of yoga postures.
Asana focus: Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is a passive and quieter style of yoga that focuses on the health of connective tissues in the body. In this module, we will explore the philosophy and principles of Yin yoga, look at 15 archetypal yin poses with a detailed breakdown of anatomical focus, variations, modifications for safety and effectiveness. Teachers will learn to effectively sequence a Yin Yoga class based on anatomical function as well as TCM Meridian theory.

Yoga Teaching is indeed an art and skill that takes time to develop. The understanding of intentions and purposes of dynamic movement and transitions is crucial to creative, safe and effective sequencing; while the discovery of one’s unique teaching style, tone and language establish your presence.
Upon completion of the module, yoga teachers would be able to mature and elevate the standards of their teaching skills to design, plan and lead intermediate and advanced classes with confidence. The process will help yoga teachers to refine their teaching voice and reinforce their personal intention and passion as a yoga teacher.
Teachers will be able to share the ancient wisdom, art and science of Yoga to their future students with integrity, passion and skill.
Theory focus: The Art and Language of Teaching
A true teacher knows how to teach according to the learning styles of the student. In this module, yoga teachers will explore different teaching techniques. We will cover various aspects of teaching, including different teaching methodologies, classroom management, language and tone of voice, body language, thematic planning of classes, different learner profiles, ethics and professional code for yoga teachers.
Asana focus: Vinyasa Yoga and Sequencing
An increasingly popular style of yoga, teaching Vinyasa yoga classes requires the yoga teacher to be creative and also confident in the technicalities and safety in the smooth transition from one posture to the next. This is especially important when it comes to the biomechanics of different postures (varying from simple to complex). In this module, we explore the principles behind effective vinyasa sequences that help students unlock their potential when it comes to challenging postures.

Classical yoga has roots in Iyengar and Hatha Yoga study, which are key to strengthen our holistic understanding and foundation in yoga before we can branch out to more applications and styles with ease.
Upon completion of the module, yoga teachers will have improved proficiency in teaching yoga asanas to students with different needs and conditions, through the effective use of props, proper sequencing and alignment in the Iyengar Yoga style.
Yoga teachers will also be able to weave concepts of yoga philosophy into their day-to-day classes, so students will have a richer learning experience, from physical asanas to the more subtle knowledge and exploration of the self.
Theory focus: Yoga Philosophy and Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras
During the course, the background and basis of yoga philosophy will be covered. Following the structure of the four chapters in Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, we will examine the essence of each sutra, analyzing and discussing the possible interpretations and its practical applications in life situations. Key Sanskrit terms in the sutras will be learned, along with other important background concepts in Samkhya Philosophy.
Asana focus: Alignment Precision in Hatha Yoga
With props, such as belts, chairs, bolsters, blocks, we can help the practitioners achieve correct alignment and a deeper understanding of yoga postures while cultivating body awareness and intelligence. In this module, we will take reference from the unique aspects of the Iyengar method, namely, technicalities, timing and sequencing to assist us in alignment precision and the mastery of our body.

Wendy’s background and interest in eastern and western philosophy led her to explore and study the workings of the mind, body and subtle energies of the universe. This led her to realise her true calling: to teach and share yoga and meditation. With diverse trainings in yoga and meditation in different traditions, Wendy seeks a balanced and complete view of one’s practice and spiritual development.
Founder and director of Yoga Seeds, Wendy leads the teaching team at Yoga Seeds Shala and the faculty of Yoga Seeds Teacher Training Program. She curates and designs yoga curriculum, program and activities for Yoga Seeds classes, retreats, trainings and workshops in locations all over Asia to spread the seeds of yoga to the corporates as well as the public.
As an ambassador for Yoga Gives Back, she organises regular fundraisers and classes for charity and is deeply committed to giving back to the community. In fact, she teaches anywhere that she can unroll her mat! Her style of yoga is a unique blend of Classical, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga, with emphasis on the breath in both movement and stillness.

On top of his vast experience in the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal pain and injuries, he is also a certified yoga instructor after having gone through rigorous yoga teacher trainings with several highly respected yoga and meditation teachers, who strongly inspired him on his yoga journey.
His passion to delve into the study of osteopathic medicine, after completing his first two yoga teacher training programs, was in fact propelled by his desire to cultivate mental steadiness in his students through the integration of healthy body alignment and breath awareness.
With his practical understanding of the human anatomy and movement, combined with his nurturing love for yoga, he hopes to ride on this lifetime interest to help people integrate their body and mind.

VARI MORALES/ Advanced Vinyasa Trainer
Vari was born in New York and grew up in the Bronx. Both of his parents immigrated from Puerto Rico and he learned at an early age that life was not easy. In his early 20’s, Vari felt something was seriously lacking in his life. With his mother’s encouragement, Vari seek for spirituality guidance and in so discovered yoga. Inspired to further his progress in spirituality, Vari embarked on a yoga journey volunteering his time and energy at an Ashram at Cre Paulo in Boston. Most of his current teaching style came from his time spent there. From Cre Paulo, Vari traveled to India for two years to continue his development in yoga practice and teaching from the original lineage.
Vari’s teaching philosophy rooted in the belief of staying connected with the breath regardless of the yoga style one is practicing. As life is breath, nothing is possible without it. For nearly a decade now, Vari has been a dedicated yoga teacher sharing his passion and inspiring others on a daily basis. Currently living in Chiang Mai Thailand, every day he is thankful for his students and the ability to continue along this wonderful journey.
Vari is known for his charisma and his classes are truly a transformational experience.
DIWAN SINGH BISHT / Iyengar Yoga & Alignment Trainer
Born in the picturesque hill town of Almora in 1976, Diwan discovered yoga when he was 24. His first teacher was one of B.K.S. Iyengar’s foremost and senior students, Br Rudradev Gowda. There at Br Rudra’s Yoga Study Centre in Rishikesh, Diwan spent four years. He studied and learned the basic foundation of Iyengar Yoga while regularly attending the general classes, intensive courses and yoga therapy classes. Br. Rudradev Yogacharya’s teachings and aesthetic way of life turned Diwan towards spirituality, introspection and meditation. Later he enhanced his knowledge of correcting and assisting yoga students working with Sharat Arora of Dharamshala; Italy’s Maria Paola, and Ushadevi of the internationally-acclaimed Omkarananda yoga studio in Rishikesh.
For the past seven years, Diwan has studied regularly at the Ramani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Poona, under the guidance of Guruji B.K.S. Iyengar from whom he received his certificate as an Iyengar certified yoga teacher.
Diwan taught yoga asana in Italy for three years until 2007 and since then has regularly conducted classes in India and China. A committed practitioner of Vipassana meditation, Diwan uses its precepts to give his practice and teaching a meditative and introspective approach. Teaching for him is a way of life and he sees it as a way of sharing knowledge in an environment where both teacher and student work to perfect their asana practice.

What are the pre-requisites for this course?
This course is for RYT 200hr and above, or those with equivalent training and experience in yoga teaching. You are required to have a reasonable command of the English language as the training will be conducted in English.
