WENDY CHAN/ Lead Trainer & Program Director

Wendy’s background and interest in eastern and western philosophy led her to explore and study the workings of the universe’s mind, body and subtle energies. This exploration led her to realise her true calling — to teach and share yoga and meditation. With diverse training in yoga and meditation in different traditions, Wendy seeks a balanced and complete view of one’s practice and spiritual development.

Founder and director of Yoga Seeds, Wendy leads the Yoga Seeds Shala’s teaching team and the Yoga Seeds Teacher Training Program faculty. She curates and designs yoga curricula, programs and activities for Yoga Seeds classes, retreats, training and workshops in locations all over Asia to spread the seeds of yoga to the corporates as well as the public.

As an ambassador for Yoga Gives Back, she organises regular fundraisers and classes for charity. She is deeply committed to giving back to the community through her self-funded non-profit organisation, Yoga Circle.

She teaches anywhere she can unroll her mat, and her style of yoga is a unique blend of Classical, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga, emphasising the breath in both movement and stillness.

BRYAN NG/ Anatomy Trainer

Bryan is an Osteopathic physician who currently runs his private practice, The PainFree Clinic, at the Novena Medical Center. (https://www.thepainfreeclinic.com.sg/)

On top of his vast experience in treating and preventing musculoskeletal pain and injuries, he is also strongly inspired by several highly respected yoga and meditation teachers he met during his yoga training.

After completing his first two yoga teacher training programs, his desire to cultivate mental steadiness in his students through the integration of healthy body alignment and breath awareness propelled his passion for delving into the study of osteopathic medicine.

With his practical understanding of human anatomy and movement and his nurturing love for yoga, he hopes to ride on this lifetime interest to help people integrate their bodies and mind.

Certifications: E-RYT500 (Yoga Alliance, US); Bachelor of Science (Clinical Science); Master of Health Science (Osteopathy); Advanced Yoga Diploma from Eka Yoga Institute under Valerie Fimat-Faneco; Yoga Diploma from Svastha Yoga Organisation under A.G. Mohan; Insight Yoga Teacher Training with Sarah Powers; Yin Yoga: A Functional Approach with Paul Grilley; Teacher Development Program (Vinyasa Flow) with Jason Crandell

JOANNE ANG / Trainer

Joanne started her yoga practice as a form of workout to boost her immune system as she was leading a relatively sedentary lifestyle. Having dance as her co-curricular activity throughout her school days and being a biology teacher in her early career, she naturally grew attracted to yoga.

She saw a significant improvement in her health and state of mind through consistent practice, and yoga became more than just a workout – it became part of her lifestyle. With a healthier body, mind and soul, she has all the energy she needs to do the things she loves – travel, teach, cook, and do yoga!

When exposed to more profound wisdom about yoga, she was inspired to deepen her practice and took up her first 200-hr yoga teacher training. She has since enjoyed teaching and sharing yoga’s benefits tremendously. As a student, she believes strongly in enjoying her practice on the mat, which translates into her encouraging demeanour in her classes.

Certifications: E-RYT 500 (Yoga Alliance, US); 300-hr Advanced Yoga Teacher Training with All Yoga Training: Rocket Yoga with David Adame; Yin Yoga, Meridians and Anatomy with Annie Au; Handstands, Mobility and Movement with Seline Schmid; The Art of Adjustments with Vari Morales; Creativity in Motion and Sequencing methodology with Kristine Ragus; 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training with Tirisula Singapore; 50-hr Vinyasa Yoga Training with Tan Hee Boon, Pure Yoga Singapore; Yoga Anatomy & Myofascial Release Workshop with Dr Bryan Lau; Art of Adjustments Workshop with Vari Morales; Yin Yoga Immersion with Chris Su; Intensive Iyengar Yoga 10-day Retreat Rishikesh, Diwan Singh Bisht

MEIYAN CHEONG / Trainer

Meiyan specialises in both Vinyasa Flow and Yin, and enjoys guiding her students towards finding that beautiful balance between Yin and Yang both on and off the mat.

Meiyan has a passion for sound healing and incorporates this in her teaching and practice in the form of instruments and mantras. Her journey with yoga is rooted in the study of its philosophy, but continues to evolve in her exploration of the bhakti (devotional) path.

Being a graduate from the third batch of teachers from Yoga Seeds, Meiyan has now come full circle as part of the training faculty in the hopes that our future trainees will have as meaningful and authentic an experience as she did.

Testimonials

How many 200 hour training would have 3 instructors with one specially flying in to teach?! Highly recommended for people of all practice levels. You don’t have to be able to twist yourself into a pretzel to be a yoga teacher. I am looking forward to more excellent workshops in the near future!

Deneuve Shauna Tan

It was a well-rounded programme that provides good knowledge on yoga and the opportunity to learn and practice different types of asana, as well as alignment and adjustment techniques. Definitely a great experience and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to deepen their practice and is interested in understanding more about yoga!

Eunice Chen

With so many YTTs available nowadays, people are really spoilt for choice and I’m glad I chose Yoga Seeds for the great, warm and real people behind it all and my fellow group of YTT-ers! While the 200hrs seemed daunting at first, very soon I was regretting that it couldn’t be longer LOL… Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to deepen and broaden their knowledge of yoga and looking to teach!

Andrea Ng

The 200hr Yoga Teacher Training was the most meaningful experience I could have asked for. Lead Instructor Wendy is a wonderful teacher and is extremely generous with her knowledge. The program curriculum is also very comprehensive and well thought-out, featuring the specialised skillsets of two other very talented teachers as well.

At the beginning I just wanted to go deeper into my practice and this journey was more than that! I went deeper into myself. I’ve discovered that yoga was more than a passion and that I wanted to share it with people! Today I am a yoga teacher (so proud to say that) and still a student thanks to Yoga Seeds ❤️.
