OUR PHILOSOPHY

The Sanskrit root word of Yoga, "yuj", means "to unify" or "yoke". The ultimate purpose of yoga is thus said to unite ourselves with our highest nature and universal consciousness.

This deeply resonates with what we share with our community at Yoga Seeds. We seek to create beautiful opportunities for reconnection with nature through the deeper study of yoga. The Yoga Seeds Shala is located in the heart of Bishan Park amidst lush greenery, and this serene setting is where we hold regular group classes, workshops and trainings. We also specialise in yoga retreats, and are always on the go to find new destinations to unroll our mats, practice, and simply reconnect with ourselves through nature.

Whether it is an inward meditative experience or a fun outdoor team-bonding workshop that you seek, Yoga Seeds aims to create strength, awareness and harmony in both the mind and body. While we hold firm beliefs in the depth of yoga philosophy and its tradition, we also aim to make yoga fun, accessible and relevant to our daily lives. Our shala welcomes all levels and all individuals from different walks of life.

We are also big advocates of Karma Yoga, and are actively involved in non-profit organisations, charity and cause-worthy initiatives to give back to the community and the underprivileged as much as we can. Our founder, Wendy Chan, is one of the ambassadors of Yoga Gives Back, an organisation empowering the women and children in India through yoga classes. She also founded the non-profit organisation Yoga Circle, dedicated to promote diversity and inclusivity in yoga.

We welcome you on this journey of self-exploration and self-inquiry through your practice. We welcome you home to nature.
