Kimberly Kwa
Yoga Teacher,
Retreat Leader

Kim started practicing yoga in 2008 as a means to rehabilitate her body and mind, and in the process found strength, mindfulness and self-compassion. She completed her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Seeds and, in the essence of forever being a student of yoga, has since done additional teacher trainings in various styles and is currently completing a 300hr Yoga Therapy certification. She is trained in Sports Massage Therapy, and is a certified Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) Mobility Specialist and often incorporates FRC and other physical modalities into her sequences.

Kim believes that yoga isn’t about getting into the most complex variation of a pose or conforming the body to a definitive shape. To her, it has been about connecting with the breath; movement (or stillness) with each inhale and exhale; doing what feels good in the moment – listening to the body, mind and soul, and letting it guide the intensity of your practice.

In addition to teaching regular studio classes & private clients across the island, facilitating retreats and workshops, and assisting with teacher trainings, Kim volunteers with Yoga Circle and coordinates activities for Pay What You Wish (PWYW) Yoga SG. PWYW is a platform for new yoga teachers to gain confidence while giving back through community classes. It runs weekly donation-based sessions offering More Yoga for More People - 100% of the proceeds go to Yoga Circle.

Although a frequent face on our retreats as both a retreat leader and participant, Kim is a homebody by nature and enjoys introspective time at home curled up with a captivating fiction read, caring for her plants (that are definitely alive and well) and just appreciating some much needed down time when she isn't running around teaching.
